Our early childhood is hoping the weather warms up soon for their flowers they planted. This activity was a story extension from "Leo the Late Bloomer". We discovered that we have all bloomed very nicely this year!
Our first graders enjoyed a day at the Washington Pavilion. Thank you to our friends with the Promising Futures Fund that helped make this possible.
The Sioux Falls School District is pleased to announce FREE weekly summer band and orchestra lessons for students currently in grades 5-12 for Summer 2022.
Students are eligible to receive weekly lessons May 31 through June 27 taught by Sioux Falls School District instrumental music educators. Instructors will establish schedules by school in neighborhoods throughout the city depending upon the numbers of registrations in each area. To register go to:

This is a great opportunity for students to receive individualized lessons for instruction lost due to the pandemic setbacks. Students of all levels may take advantage of this opportunity. This opportunity is being provided by funding through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER).
LBA is hosting our Family Bingo Night on Thursday, April 21. Doors open at 5 pm. There will be a food truck, prizes and a bike give away. We hope to see you there!

The Sioux Falls School Board approved a recommendation at their meeting tonight to move the last day of school from Tuesday, May 24, 2022 to Wednesday, May 25, 2022 due to the one day of school missed for inclement weather in December.

We enjoyed the musical talents of our 2nd & 3rd grade. They presented their musical "It's a Jungle Out There!" to us during the day as well as an evening performance on Thursday. Great Job!
Our 2nd and 3rd grade have been working hard preparing for their music concert. Performances are at 1:45 pm and 6:30 pm on Thursday, April 7th. We hope to see you there!
It's National Library Week! We're so grateful for all that Mrs. Savage and Mrs. Luetgers do for our students and how they promote the love of lifelong reading. LBA documented reading 4,254 books. In the month of March there were 4,297 books checked out from our library. Plus, our kids read curriculum texts, have books read aloud by teachers and utilize electronic books.
The city-wide number was 382,755 books.
Thank you to our friends at Oak Hills Baptist Church for your donation of Kleenex and other school supplies. Their children's ministry had a competition to bring in the supplies and our school is the winner. They are very much appreciated!
